Quan Lan Island
I came to Quan Lan Island on a sunny day in the summer of June. Before going, I only know Quan Lan is a small island in Quang Ninh province, new tourism services are exploited and Is growing so still wild and has much to explore.
After coming to this land of sun and wind, I really believe Quan Lan is a true paradise. And if you are planning to go to see this summer, read through your 2-day-2-night trip to Quan Lan with the latest information on costs, experience and where to get more fun.

I departed from Hanoi City to Quang Ninh Province after work time Friday afternoon. The vehicle is passenger car from My Dinh central station. We come into a bus to Hanoi - Quang Ninh in fact, there are many buses from Hanoi to Quang Ninh, running continuously, the most prominent are Kumho Viet Thanh and Duc Phuc.
I advise people to go Kumho Viet Thanh if the time for good because of high quality vehicles, good service, not crammed, enough people to go, do not make passengers along the road.
My trip to Bai Chay used to ride Viet Thanh was very interested. However, I go to Viet Thanh in accordance with the schedule to Yen Tu, Bai Chay, Ha Long than Viet Thanh buses only stop at Cam Pha is the last point that want to go to Quan Lan, if the bus to Cua Ong is more convenient because from that I can visit Cai Rong port - where the pier to Quan Lan / Co To island is quite close.
For this reason, I chose Duc Phuc because Duc Phuc bus ran direclty to Cua Ong, even if you pay 30k for the car, it will take you to Cai Rong Port. Ticket price from My Dinh - Cua Ong Duc Phuc car is 130k. ( 130 000 VNĐ)
However, the road from My Dinh Station to Melinh Plaza, Duc Phuc car runs quite slow because the car catching passengers along the road, going from My Dinh at 5h10 but 7h to Melinh Plaza and 10h to Cua Ong. Cars also cram guests into the back seat of plastic rather than quality Kumho Viet Thanh.
My Dinh Bus Central Station
About Cua Ong town at 10am, I go to Thien Ly guesthouse at 443 Chinh - Cua Oo to rest for the next morning to go to the island. The main street parking should be parked at the door, the house has a pretty coffee garden, next to the nightlife although the roadside but still have TV watching the World Cup. 1 night stay is 250k / triple room with 1 double bed comfortable. K + TV, air conditioning, hot shower, full refrigerator.
In front of the inn there are 2 ATM of Sacom and BIDV are quite convenient and convenient as there are many buses and coaches that pass through the next morning so that they can catch Cai Rong Port.
Arrive at Quan Lan Island (Day 7)
Arrive at Quan Lan Island
The most important thing to note when going to Quan Lan is to buy a train ticket to the island.
Since I have a plan to go to Quan Lan island for a long time and have researched the information on I went, so I called Hao Thinh (098 279 4298) to book tickets and transfer money before the weekends should come here. I have no problem in buying high speed train tickets to the island while I have known that quite a lot of people arrive to buy new tickets but tickets are out of sold.
There are two types of boat going from Cai Rong port to the island. One is a slow speed boat trip (3 hours), easy to cause seasickness, one day only two trips to the island. Two are high speed train, morning there are 3 consecutive 7h-7h30-8h, high-speed train to the island only 1 hour to save maximum time.
It is best to buy a train ticket to the island and you should always buy a ticket the next day to ensure you can land on schedule.
We take the high-speed train trip 7h30, 7h35 minutes so the train should pay attention to the port in time to miss the train. Travel time is 1 hour, we do not sit in the deck but on the deck behind, just windy cool to see the beautiful sea island. And high-speed trains run fast so there is no feeling of drifting waves.
Motel in Quan Lan
After consulting the information, combined with the dust tourism preferences, we chose Uncle Mui's house (098 457 3725) because the uncle house on stilts can be in the same group.
The house is right next to Quan Lan beach so it is convenient to go to the beach. Apart from the collective house, Mui Uncle House also has concrete brick buildings like other popular guest houses on the island so that everyone can comfortably choose to suit their needs.
As soon as the boat docks, Uncle Mui waited for us by the tuk tuk.
When we went to the stilt house we found the right house on stilts when there was no electricity in Quan Lan, the people had to run the generator, so the electricity was very limited, only a few hours in the evening, until 12 o'clock. Power failure should be at the brick house vs concrete in the afternoon is quite hot, but we are very cool house floor. If you stay in large motels or hotels, electricity will be available in the daytime because they run the generator.
The biggest plus point of Uncle Mui is very close to Quan Lan beach, 7 minutes’ walk is very convenient for the beach. The cost is also very reasonable 50k / person / night in the stilt house.
The stilt house has 2 restrooms but no hot and cold showers and at night it is necessary to have mosquito nets to insect mosquito bites.
When we got the room, we rented bicycles for rent, we rented bicycles and then hiked up the hill towards the beaches to take pictures. This area is also along the coast but not the beach so very wild, charming.
We ordered lunch on Saturday and Sunday at Uncle Mui always, only 100 000 VND / person / meal but also get enough squid, shrimp, clam, mussel or crab soup.... J Spicy noodles here are specialty fresh worm 300 o / kg. We eight people eat up 1. 2 kg of peanut wages + 50k rent peanut wax. Have lunch and rest at 4pm we go to the beach.
In Quan Lan, there are 3 beaches (Quan Lan), Son Hao (3 km away), and the most popular beach. Chau (9 km away from the motel, tuk tuk travel).
The first beach we went Saturday afternoon is the farthest beach of Minh Chau, the tuk tuk is cool and the tuk tuk drivers are very silky here, so it is quite squirreled road (because of the grid) but the car still goes on roads that pass through the lakes and dunes. Then we tell the tuk tuk driver to stop for a photo shoot.

Bai Minh Chau is the most famous of the 3 beaches, people are married here but I do not like the beach because of this beach is quite opaque fire ash as the ashes of the campfire burned into the sea quite dirty, however In a corner of the sea, a swing is fun. Alongside the beach, lounge chairs, coconut water, takeaways, bathing after swimming at sea, karaoke and dining are all available to play from afternoon to night.
I advise people not to eat dinner at the beach near the beach keep the goods because the seafood is not fresh, but the price is quite high. I prefer getting back out on the way to the beach to eat.
Out outside we eat at the largest restaurant outside, picking food so forget to take pictures to review, here not to eat the combo style, each one a 100k, 150k, 200k, 300k … option. I choose the 150k has 10 full items from the main dishes such as grilled oyster onions, steamed shrimp, butter fried squid, fish sauce,... to fruit dessert. Buy one extra person per crab + food + drinks. At the time of payment, each person lost 250k, which was comfortable and full.
We finished eating at the lodge and walked to Quan Lan beach near the lodge. On the beach this evening is quite crowded, camp fire, karaoke service on sand beach close together close to each other, kara price 150k / hour. But we do not sing here because the motel we should also go to play the sea breeze one time and then back to the hostel singing nights to bed.
Quan Lan weekend on Sunday
Wake up early to dawn photo shoot at Quan Lan beach near the guesthouse, I remember early wake up, the sun is very fast. This morning beach is known that the beach is very green in the bath, very happy, photographed beautiful, in addition to the blue sea, white sand and sunshine, there are also wild rocks again.
Morning break, we just go tuk tuk to the center of Quan Lan commune to have breakfast, watch football, enjoy the life of the locals and then go back to the hostel for lunch and prepare to go back to the pier land at the end at 1 pm. On the mainland we go to the market to buy seafood for gifts and then take a taxi (150k / car) back to Cua Ong Fork to pick up Duc Phuc back to Hanoi.
At 3hpm to the car back to Hanoi City, 8h30 pm we have arrived at the bus station of My Dinh.
Note when traveling to Quan Lan
In order to get to Quan Lan, most importantly I think you have to buy a train ticket to the island. Whether it is a wooden ship or a high-speed train, this holiday season cannot be subjective. The best way I think that you should contact reservations, transfer money to advance tickets with the shipping line right before you arrive in Quang Ninh to ensure not to break the plan.
The price of transportation on the island
Rental double bicycles: 100k / day or 10k / hour
Price tuk tuk: 50k / short, (from the pier to Quan Lan center), 100k / long (from Quan Lan to Minh Chau). It is possible to rent packaged services with tuk tuk from 500k.
Regarding the beaches in Quan Lan: I personally like Quan Lan beach most of the 3 beaches here because of pristine water, clear water, beautiful rocky beach and not as crowded as Minh Chau.
When to travel to Lan?
The blue sea, sunshine is definitely a perfect summer break for me. However, you should also pay attention to weather forecast before going because this season also rains a lot. My week was sunny but only a week later, my friends went to the rainy day, all the activities took place in the guesthouse, but Quan Lan in the rain according to his friend told the beauty is very romantic.
What to bring to Quan Lan
Like other sea tours, I bring cool clothes, clothes and shoes to Quan Lan. Do not forget sunscreen and insect repellent as well as antihistamines if you are allergic to seafood.
