The story of Ba Be Lake

In the past, in the North, every year Nam Mau villagers held a large Buddhist worship ceremony, called the price ceremony. One day, a leprosy old woman came to the village to attend the ceremony. Her clothes are ragged, tattered. Grandma smells foul, very uncomfortable, causing people to shun. The old lady turned to this house to eat, was dismissed, and scolded. People are afraid of transmitting leprosy. However, some people feel pity. It was a widow, with her son. She was not disgusted, asked her to enter the house to eat enough food. Then, willing to let the old lady sleep by night, in the corner of the granary, in the tent. By midnight, the mother and daughter suddenly wake up, heard the rumbling noise rumbling from the barn. Opening the barn door, there was no old lady, but a big bunny bending like a thundercloud. The mother and son came out fearful, restless, afraid, and unable to sleep anymore.

In the morning, saw the old lady come out from the barn and say, "I'm really not human, I'm just a beggar, begging the charity of the male and female believers. Everyone was chasing me, except her mother and her children. They are all Buddha's beams, will inevitably punish the superiors entrusted to me to execute, it is a cataclysm. Whenever there is a source of water to begin to flow here, then mother and child run quickly to the top of the mountain avoiding the accident. Two pieces of this husk will help save the child”

With that said, the old woman disappears. The next day, while everyone was jostling for the ceremony in the middle of the village, suddenly, where water flowed from the top to the side, flowing into the valley. People climb up the roof, climb the tree. But the water is filled up forever, flooded both the roofs and tall trees. All the people were dying, except for the two widowed mother and two rushed out on the top of the mountain, two pieces of hull husks are two boats.
