A special place in Verona
Verona is surely one of the most magical cities out there. It's not that big, it's not that small but it's wonderful. At first sight, it's a mixture of Roman and Medieval architecture. We have a big Arena, clearly Roman, then we have a big Castle, clearly Medieval. Once in a lifetime, everybody should visit this Italian city.
Once you come here, you can easily discover what you can see and visit by googling it. So, I want to suggest you something you cannot find through Google. I want to suggest you a place where you can eat typical Italian food while enjoying the view of Verona and its beautiful Roman theater.
This place is to be found near the church of Sant'Anastasia which in turn is close to Piazza Erbe and Piazza Dante. Once you get there, the impression is of being in front of a normal caffe', but there's a trick. You need to get inside and ask to be accommodated outside. They will not be guiding you through the door you entered, they will guide you somewhere else. You will be required to climb the stairs and then you will be out, enjoying a view of the beautiful Verona from a very special perspective.
Next to you, the River Adige which crosses the city, in front of you, on the other side, the ancient ruins of the Roman theater and all the way up the hills with their green trees.
The place has also so honest prices. You can order typical Italian food as pizza, which by the way is simply amazing, or sip some Sprizt which is a typical drink of this region of a striking orange color. You can also order typical food of Verona which usually includes polenta and horse meat.
Yeah, in Verona we eat horse meat. But why? Well, Verona enjoys a very particular geographical position. It does not have access to the sea and at the same time, it has a continental climate which makes it difficult to cultivate. As the city used to give access to the rest of Italy, it was invaded so many times throughout the centuries. During battles, horses would die on the field and as people were starving, they started to take those horses and to eat their meat. So now you know, why horse meat is a thing in Verona.
Anyway, the name of the place is CAPPA KAFE. Enjoy.
