Experience in Verona, Italy by Marica
What is it like to live in Verona? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
I absolutely love this city! It is a perfect blend of the ancient and the new: you can find astonishing pieces of history throughout the city as well as new shops and cute corners with cute bars and patisseries.
What is the student lifestyle like in Verona?
It is very active, especially on Thursdays and Fridays.
How much does it cost to live in Verona?
I live with my parents, so I can't really give advices.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Since it's Italian food I think it will be hard for anyone to be disappointed... The food range goes from vegan to Japanese, from Indian to the typical and delicious pizza al metro.
What places would you recommend visiting in Verona?
Definitely Castle San Pietro and Piazza delle Erbe... but Sottoriva is worth a visit as well!
Is it good to eat out in Verona? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
My favorite place is "El Vecio Mulin" a typical restaurant with a wonderful view on the river.. I can also recommend "La Bella Napoli" for the best pizza ever.
Is the nightlife good in Verona? Where is good to go?
The best thing you can do is to take a stroll in Piazza Erbe in the late evening and sit outside one of the many bars.
What advice would you give future students heading to Verona?
Fully enjoy your experience and take time to visit the wonders outside the city as well (lake Garda, Valpolicella and Lessinia)!
