Venice: 15 essentials in 48 hours.

Do you only have one weekend to see Venice? Stay calm, you will still be able to enjoy almost all of the city of Venice in 48 hours. Although there are lots of enchanting and wonderful corners, in general you can see Venice in a small amount of time - that's if you don't get lost amidst all the little streets!

I can say that I have been to Venice on more than three occasions, it's not a city that I love and nor would I advise to go if you don't have many days to see Italy. However, I would advise you to visit if you have a lot of spare time on your holidays.

I've seen Venice in winter, summer, with the Saint Marcos Square flooded, not flooded, during Carnaval... On many occasion. I have to say that it is a beautiful city, but very very touristy and sometimes there is so much tourism that it's stressful.

During Carnaval, I would advise it, but only with enjoying the more well known masks, like the Venetian masks. It is a different kind of carnival, but don't think it's much different from the carnivals we're used to, I could see everything from masks to the famous minions. And the party, it's like in Spain, meaning it's adapted to its timetable.

Enjoy this wonderful city surrounded by canals in every corner, get lost and let yourself be carried away by its narrow streets, enjoy Italian food, pizzas, pasta... and a coffee in Saint Marcos.

Don't forget, you'll find tourists everywhere, but that's what makes Venice beautiful, the walk past people and more people through its narrow streets enjoying the beautiful city.

Ah! Watch out for the seagulls, they eat your food. Or at least they loved my sandwich. There are in Saint Marcos Square, at Rialto Bridge... Everywhere.

Of course, as you walk you come across many sellers of selfies sticks, lighters, souvenirs... But also enjoy walking around listening to the street artists.

If you visit Venice during Carnival, get a typical Venetian mask and enjoy the typical Venice carnival and its party at night.

Venice has something that will captivate you and make you come back even a second time.

What I like most about Venice was getting lost again and again... On top of that, every time I passed through one of its narrow alleys I said: it feels like I've been here before...

Yes, as I say, in Venice you'll get lost, but you'll always get back to Saint Marcos Square.

And that leaves only one thing to say... Enjoy Venice!

See you next time!

Cheers.
