Why did you choose to go to Växjö, Sweden?

Because I wanted to do it in Sweden and Linnaeus University offered very interesting programm in my field.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

Scholarship was 900 euro in a month (for 5 months) + money from my parents.

What is the student lifestyle like in Växjö?

Lifestyle is very interesting, full of parties, pre - parties, after-parties and of course full of stress about your studies.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Växjö to other students?

Yes of course, because it was a very good experience and I met a lot of interesting people. The University and study programm "Peace and Development" are very well organized, very good profesors.

What is the food like?

Food is expensive and not so tasty.

How did you find your accommodation?

The University ensured.

What are the accommodation prices like? What are prices like for other things in general?

The one room studio type private flat costed around 350 euros, entrance in night club 5 euro, one beer 4 euro, local buss ticket 2 euro, loaf of bread around 2 euro.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

The language was easy to get to grips with and the university offered Swedish language courses.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Växjö from your city?

With Ryanair to Skavsta airport and then with bus or train.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Växjö?

I would recommend trying all student clubs in campus.

Branch on weekend in Sivans!

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

  • Teleborg castle,
  • Vaxjo church,
  • Krononberg castle,
  • History Museum.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Växjö in the future?

Before you go there collect a lot of money - you will need that and don't forget about your assignments, exams. The campus life is awesome!
