What is it like to live in Utrecht? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
It is much fun! I would definetely reconmend living in Utrecht. There's a lot to do and to see, the people are nice and it is not too crowded.
What is the student lifestyle like in Utrecht?
Really fun. In summer everyone is chilling at the park and in winter you can find lots of students at bars or coffeeshops. You have lot of communities you can attend for sports or other interests like art and travelling.
How much does it cost to live in Utrecht?
I am spending 800 euros a month but you can do it cheaper if you are good at it.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Utrecht? Is there any advice you can give?
Yeah, it is really really difficult. You can try ssh shortstay or kamernet but maybe the best option is facebook (zoektkamerutrecht or kamerinutrecht). If you know people in Utrecht you should ask them.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
The food is okay, there aren't real typical dutch dishes but we have food from all over the world here in Holland.
What places would you recommend visiting in Utrecht?
Go to:
- De kanaalstraat for your fruit and vegetables.
- De munt or Maarsseveense plassen for a swim.
- For partying go to Tivoli at thursday night.
- For a beer go to Cafe belgie, T oude pothuys.
- For wine go to Vinvin.
- For a movie go to Springhaver or Louis hartlooper.
- Take a walk along de singel.
Is it good to eat out in Utrecht? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
I don't go out for dinner a lot but i heard Lacubanita is good.
Is the nightlife good in Utrecht? Where is good to go?
Tivoli, Havana, Poema, Gra van de buuren, T oude pothuys...
What advice would you give future students heading to Utrecht?
Buy a bike!
