What is it like to live in Utrecht? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

The city itself is beautiful. The lovely canals throughout the city and the architecture is impressive. Many nice parks like Grift Park or Wilhelminapark are hotspots during the warmer days.

What is the student lifestyle like in Utrecht?

There are so many students in Utrecht from all over the world. Tuesday and Thursday is student night so you get into clubs for free most of the times. There are many nice bars like Mick O'Connells to meet up for a beer or two in the evening.

How much does it cost to live in Utrecht?

Living in the Netherlands in general is rather expensive. So the expectation of getting a room in the centre for 350 a month is not going to happen. You should expect to pay 450-550, depending on the location. The closer it gets to the city centre, the more expensive it is.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Utrecht? Is there any advice you can give?

It is very difficult. Join some FB groups or hire an agency, it can at least help to get something in the beginning. As soon as you are in Utrecht you can continue looking for something new.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

To be honest, dutch food is not nice. Except for a Kapsalon, which is 2500 calories of heaven.

What places would you recommend visiting in Utrecht?

The coffee place "30ml", any restaurant along the Oudegracht cause it's lovely in the summer. Griftpark and Wilhelminapark. And when you're in Utrecht already, go to Amsterdam.

Is it good to eat out in Utrecht? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Beers&Barrels!

Is the nightlife good in Utrecht? Where is good to go?

The nightlife is nice, the best clubs are, in my opinion, Ekko, Chupitos (more like a bar) and Hofmanns.

What advice would you give future students heading to Utrecht?

Utrecht is beautiful but foreign students don't get free travel, so make sure you live close to the city centre. Utrecht University is a good school, I don't reccommend the HU!
