How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

9 months. About 250 euro per month

What is the student lifestyle like in Utrecht?

Following lectures, parties sometimes with electronic music and rivers of beer.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Utrecht to other students?

I would reccomend definetly the city, about university it depends on your study topic.

What is the food like?

In general the food is quite bad, but it is something related to Netherlands, not to Utrecht in particular.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Utrecht?

It's quite hard finding a cheap appartment or room in Utrecht. You have to start working on that months before you arrive.

How much does it cost to live in Utrecht?

Well, on average 400 euro for a shared room and let's say 100 euro (without travelling or eating in reasturants) per week, so about 700-800 euro per month.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

The large part of dutch people speak english, so it is not a real problem. I did not check about free dutch or english courses.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Utrecht from your city?

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Utrecht?

Well, it depends on your taste and on the season (during the winter is not so confortable beeing outside). You can choose a pub, a disco, a club, recently they built a theatre, there are cinemas, and so on...

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Utrecht?

All the good restaurants are not dutch restaurants and the best are just too expensive. So I do not know what to answer.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

The dome with its tower, the windmill on Lombok (west part) and... Well, there are not so many cultural sites.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Utrecht in the future?

Whatever I'm going to say, the best way to discover the town or to have an opinion about that is living there, so I have not any other advice.
