Experience in University of Salamanca, Spain by Mona
Generally, what is University of Salamanca like?
The university is well organised with each department having its own area of campus.
What are the facilities like?
During my time there I was not able to locate the facilities like a university gym as we have at University of Liverpool, nor did there seem to be many sports clubs for those not very apt at sport. However the libraries were well equipped with many areas to study.
What are the tutors like?
The tutors were warm and welcoming and made me feel at ease in a new country. Many of them had once studied or worked abroad and were able to share thier experience. They introduced me to patients and new staff and kept me part of the conversation.
Are the lessons easy in University of Salamanca?
The subject matter was as expected from a 5th year medical student level.
Does the University organise activities? If so, what are they like?
The university organised trips away especially with the language school. I went on one to Todelo and it ran smoothly, we had a fair amount of organised activity and free time.
Do you think there is a good quality of teaching?
Yes, the tutors made an effort not just to teach me medicine but improve my Spanish too.
Are there any stories you can share?
Too many!
