Zaghouen a hidden city of natural water

Zaghouen is a very popular city in Tunisia, located in the north of the country near Bir MCHERGA  railway station, this very beautiful city is a real tresor for poeple that does not know it because it contains the most pure and natural source of overflowing water coming from the mountains used usually in distibution of mineral water mainly but also in public showers and sauna like Hamam Zriba.

We decided to gather with family members that we did not see for years to go discover this amazing place and enjoy the natural sources of water, these sources can also be found in natural swimming pools and saunas also in a city called Korbous that is not very far from the city center Tunis, only 40 minutes by car mainly.

Going to the city Zaghouen by car would be the best mean of transport as the road is not a large highway it is just a local road intercities and we don't usually pay taxes for such a destination. The weather was warm with very hot sun, the birds flying in the sky and sky as clear as the pure water coming out from the sources existing inside the ground representing together a splendid masterpiece.

We  arrived to the city center and decided to discover the place by walking which was the best choice, in fact in the entrance of the city there was several shops offering grilled meat of sheeps or cows and poeple could enjoy a barbecue together in nature even not knowing each other from the beginning, they became so close and friendly and exchanged on many subjects while tasting the grilled meat in a tunisian way.

The meat was actually with a lot of spices and grilled for long time until it gets the red color characterised for this type of dish that was accompanied with  salad, fresh vegetables, sometimes rice and cheese. It is not considered a national popular dish but the entrance of the city is very popular for these kind of open space restaurants.

The natural overflowing sources from water can be very well seen in the parc or temple of water were we went together happily singing and clapping and making an amazing trip atmosphere for relaxing and discovering this beauty of the nature.

The temple of water was composed of multiple roads inside a spacious forest with amazing types of trees, the ruins of a past historical period where the kings reigned over the city as it was enriched with natural ressources like water. Water was pure, having an amazing taste of minerals and many beneficial virtues to the body and to the mind as well.

While we were visiting the place two of my male cousins decided to go discover the mountain and the amamzing fauna and flora of the region as it was very rich with natural ressources, the other members of the family decided to do a picnic near the sources of water after having many drinks of course and washing ourselves with this overflowing source of mineral water.

Many national societies of mineal water by this way use the natural water from zaghouen to produce their bottles of water at a national scale. Anyway after refreshing ourselves and feeling more joyful by the smell of herbs and trees, of pure air very far from the city's pollution, we were suddenly surprised that my ant hurt herself while trying to get up and hit the ground by slipping over the rocky place, we run up to help the poor woman and tried our best to disinfect the wound as we could, the problem at that point was that my two cousins were lost inside the mountain and we could not find them anywhere while the woman had an emergeny need to be healed.

We started to yell on them we tried to go in the mountain several times to see what was happening, these issues can really happen while being in total harmony and relaxed mood with the nature, we had big pressure to find the two guys as the situation was an emergency.

We had then to go to the security gard to help us find the two guys that were lost  totally in the mountain and desoriented while sun set was very near and night was about to come very fast.

After about twenty minutes, the security gard finally found the two men that did not knew the going back road it was finally the releif that there were in complete healthy state so we had to go very fast to the nearest hospital for my ant to have the first emergency care.

So in conclusion, going for adventure can be full of excitement, full of joyful feelings and beautiful and friendly relations but unfortunaly if poeple does not care about details and avoid being in troubles like discovering a difficult rocky place or surrounded by obstacles, disaster can really happen so poeple must not forget the fact of avoid risky places especially in a natural reserve or not protected area.
