Experience in Tallinn University, Estonia by Stina

Generally, what is Tallinn University like?

Tallinn University stands for the new way of academical - this means that the courses are quite modern and the average age of proffessors is relatively low (as many active proffessionals are teaching). Tallinn University is young and that's tea reasony why it stands for developing in the fast changing world.

What are the facilities like?

Tallin University just finished building and renovating the facilities, so this has turned the buildings into quite pleasent place to study and be at. New buildings are well-equipped and modern.

What are the tutors like?

As a local student I haven't used the help of local tutors, so I can't really comment on their competence. I know that our tutors have to go through a course before they become tutors, so this should single out the people who really want to do tutoring.

Are the lessons easy in Tallinn University?

The lessons are relatively easy, but you need to attend to achieve a good mark. Also, I think it's a stupid question. The question is more about wether the person is ready to study, everything is doable.

Does the University organise activities? If so, what are they like?

Most of the activities are organized by student organisations and they are quite cool and fun. Some of the most interesting ones are Nova cinema nights (new movies are available to enjoy in our indoor cinema only for 3 Eur) and PedaFolk (a song competition).

Do you think there is a good quality of teaching?

The quality of teaching depends very much on the faculty.
