What is it like to live in Trieste? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Living in Trieste is funny. The city has a great landscape surrounded by mountains, hills and valleys. It is close to many other bordering countries like Slovenia, Austria and Croatia.

The transportation system is wonderful. You have good connectivity to every nook and corner of the city through public transportation. Though you have only one mode of public transportation i. e. the bus.

For quick movement you have radio cabs/ taxi's that can pick you up in a couple of minutes from the time you place a call to the call centre and the arrival of the Taxi to your location.

The city center is a wonderful place to hang out. There are plenty of bars and pubs to hag out. For the coffee lovers you have many places that serve you variety of coffee. Dont miss out Illy coffee which is available at every 50 yards in every nook and corner of the city.

The weather I would say isn't bad. The winters are cold and summers are pleasant. There are a couple of beaches in and around town.

What is the student lifestyle like in Trieste?

Student lifestyle is great. Its nice to see an international mix of students from all around the world.

The students have plenty of accomodations to choose from.

Entertainment. There are plenty of theatres to watch movies. While moving around the city you will find plenty of students all around. When you meet some local Triestino they will make you feel at home with their warm hospitality.

How much does it cost to live in Trieste?

There are various type of accomodation and the living expenses varies as per individual lifestyle.

However a minimum budget of 600 Euros is advisable for students. Average living expenses in town is 600 to 1200 euros.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Trieste? Is there any advice you can give?

No. Its not difficult to find accomodation. There are plenty of online resources available to help one in searching the right accomodation.

The students could seek the help from their respective Schools, Colleges or institutions who can help the students out in finding a suitable accomodation.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

As regards to food, one can find food of all cultures. The quick and fast fod I suppose is the Pizza.

My favourite dish during my stay out here was PIZZA.

What places would you recommend visiting in Trieste?

There are many places like:

  • The Barcola
  • Villa Oppichina

    Come to Trieste. You will enjoy your stay and at the end of your stay you wil start missing this great city of joy.
