Why did you choose to go to Trieste, Italy?
For it's geographic location, it's great for travelling from.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
It was for 1 year and I got €250 a month.
What is the student lifestyle like in Trieste?
It's a university city.
Would you recommend the city and the university of Trieste to other students?
Yes.
What is the food like there?
Italian food is very good, especially the pizza.
Was it difficult to find accommodation in Trieste?
A bit, given that the rentals are done on a yearly basis, so until the previous rentals are finished, there's not a lot of offers.
How much does it cost to live in Trieste?
About €600 a month.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the university?
It's easy, Italian is very similar to Spanish, so it's not hard to understand it, it's a bit more difficult to speak it.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Trieste from your home city?
By plane from Madrid to Venice and then by train from Venice to Trieste.
Where would you recommend for a night out in Trieste?
The Molo area and the Barcola.
And to eat in Trieste? What are some of your favourite places to go?
The food is good wherever you go out to eat. But I wouldn't leave without having had the gelato there.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
It's a charming city.
Do you have any advice for students coming to Trieste in the future?
Make the most of it to travel a lot.
