Why did you choose to go to Trieste, Italy?

When I researched the city it seemed like a really beautiful place, and it is very close to other places, making it easy for travel.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I am here for a year, I get funding from Erasmus and from the student loan system in England.

What is the student lifestyle like in Trieste?

There are clubs and parties happening every week. Lots of really nice bars. Viale XX Settembre is full of good bars and food options.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Trieste to other students?

Yes, it's a really nice city though fairly small.

What is the food like?

I've had some amazing food since I got here. Piadina, pasta, pizza, gelato. All really, really good.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Trieste?

We found ours through a noticeboard in the university.

How much does it cost to live in Trieste?

That all depends. I have a good apartment that isn't too expensive. But it depends how much you spend on food, going out etc.

There is a language course available for all Erasmus students.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Trieste from your city?

I am from the North of England and there is a plane from London to Trieste.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Trieste?

Again it all depends on taste. There are some really nice bars for a chilled night, for clubs there are Rossetti, Colonial, Mandracchio, Ausonia.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Trieste?

La Cajeva on Viale XX Settembre. Amazing Piadinas.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Trieste has some gorgeous buildings, landmarks, museums and theatres to see.

Is there any other advice that you could give to future students who are going to Trieste?

It is what you make of it. Get involved with Erasmus events, it's a good way to meet people.
