What is it like to live in Toulouse? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Toulouse is not such a big city, so you don't get lost and it quickly feels like home, but it's big enough so that there are always things to do. The city center is lovely (red bricks everywhere), but rather small, and the rest of the city is mostly ok.

What is the student lifestyle like in Toulouse?

It depends a lot on what structure you're integrating, but you can easily find time to visit the city and enjoy your stay while spending time on your studies.

How much does it cost to live in Toulouse?

Less than in European capitals. It's expensive but it remains decent. You might find accommodation between 300 and 500 euros on the market. Transport is relatively cheap (100 euros for one year of unlimited bus-subway-tramway).

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Toulouse? Is there any advice you can give?

It's not more difficult than elsewhere. I recommend state-funded student accommodation centers (cite U) : Rooms are small but cheaper than on the real-estate market and they usually take erasmus students.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

It's France, so you won't have to complain about the food.

What places would you recommend visiting in Toulouse?

Go inside the Capitole for classical arts, stroll along the Garonne or the many canals, visit the Abattoirs Museum for contemporary arts.

Is the nightlife good in Toulouse? Where is good to go?

I would recommend going to the Jean Jaurès area to go out : Lots of good clubs and bars (Connexion, Cafe Pop, IBar).
