Experience in Toulouse, France by Manon
How do you find living in the city of Toulouse? Do you recommend it? How is the city?
Living in Toulouse is great! Like all the big cities the rent prices are a bit high but nothing worrying. You need to know the good neighbourhoods and the places for doing your grocery shopping.
How is the student atmosphere in Toulouse?
A very student-friendly city, with loads of events which are organised in bars and clubs. University housing estates are also quite dynamic. Really, a great city for students.
What is the cost of living in Toulouse?
Me personally, for the Rangueil neighbourhood, I pay 500€ for 39m2.
And for grocery shopping I get by with 50€ per week I think.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Toulouse? Do you have any advice to give?
It's quite simple to find where to stay, by going to agencies, even individuals, with the site leboncoin.fr.
How is the food in the city? What are your favourite dishes?
There are very good restaurants and specialities to try, like "cassoulet" or "saucisse de Toulouse". Good restaurants in general and really varied.
What places do you recommend seeing in Toulouse?
When it comes to bars, everything which is towards the city centre of Toulouse (Snapper Rock, Café Pop) for everything Rock and for good music. To meet people and to drink endless beer rather Saint Pierre square (Saint des seins, Chez Tonton, La couleur de la culotte, le bar Basque).
And eating in Toulouse? Can you tell us your favourite places?
I fell in love with Le Picotin, restaurants towards Palais de Justice where you eat everything with your fingers, with the atmosphere for good evenings with friends. L'Entrecôte, you have to eat here at least once, towards Jean Jaurès, with their magic sauce.
