Toulouse is a charming and elegant student city.

I arrived there 5 years ago without knowing no one or nothing about the city, but now i have the feeling that i belong to these streets. People are so welcoming and open that you can adapt really quickly to this environment.

The proximity between universities and especially Toulouse Business School with Airbus guarantees you a practical education adapted to the real challenges of today.

Toulouse is really a city that I would recommend to anyone.

Way of life: It's reasonable for an average income student, the subway ticket cost 1euro 40 cents, a coffee rounds 2 euros and for what interests everybody, the beer is around 3euros.

Places to visit: In Toulouse there's a very beautiful architecture, you can visit places like The Saint Sernin Church, the Saint Augustin Museum, the Saint Etienne church or Les berges at Saint Pierre in the afternoon, lovely. Near Toulouse I definitely recommend Lourdes, it is a really spiritual and religious place.

Neighborhood to rent a place: I would recommend people to rent a place Les Carmes, it's a lovely neighborhood with a lot of stores, bars and it's really calm, the rent is around 500 euros. The good deal is to rent a place in the center of the city because the subway stops at 00h and we all are students and we love to go out, the only way to go home after 00h is with the Velib but it also stops at 02h, so i really advise you to rent a place at the center (Carmes, Capitole, Esquirol, Jean Jaures, Compans Caffereli etc.. )

Bars and disco : If you are arriving in Toulouse, you need to go to Saint Pierre where you can go to Chez Tonton (which is one of the most famous bars in the South West), but you can also go to some bars in Gabriel Peri like Frog and Rosbiff or Conection Cafe. For clubs I recommend Le Chez Vous, or Carnaval.

Transportation: As i said before the subway ticket costs 2euros 40 but it closes at 00h so when you go out it's complicated to go out at night when you don't live in the center. There are also bikes to rent, it costs 30 euros per year and it's really practical, everything is so near in Toulouse.

Security : Toulouse is a safe city to live in, there are a lot of students so the most part of the people are there to party and not to fight. But, of course, there are issues of security in some suburbs like Empalot Reynerie and in the last years there were some tragic stories of violence but Toulouse stays a safe city.

Gastronomy: Nothing better than a Fondue or a Gratinet, there are some good restaurant you could go to have a taste of french food. The best one is Sarran but it's really expensive. For students, there's is Le Cornet a Fondue that cost near 20 euros, but if you have a birthday or something to celebrate I totally recommend La Tantina de Burgos, you won't forget that night, I can guarantee you.
