What is it like to live in Toulouse? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Living in Toulouse is having fun and sun most of the time! I'd 100% recommend the experience, the city's not too big nor too small, just the right amount and there's always something new to see. I've lived there since I was born and I still don't know everything about Toulouse!

What is the student lifestyle like in Toulouse?

Being a student in Toulouse is so easy, there are 3 universities (one for litterature and human sciences, one for law and economics and one for sciences and sports) and lots of activities between students. Plus, every weekend (starting from Thursday night) every student goes out and makes the most of the night!

How much does it cost to live in Toulouse?

Not that much actually, the shopping is quite reasonable, and accommodations are too (if you're not looking for an enormous appartment on the very fancy Place du Capitole... )

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Toulouse? Is there any advice you can give?

Not really, you really have to have a look at all the accommodation websites, choose one that you feel confortable with and you need to be available for visiting.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Being in the South of France, the food is quite light with lots of vegetables from the area (we call them "légumes du soleil", (sun vegetables) but we have some famous dishes, such as cassoulet, in which we often cook duck meat. It's very tasty!

What places would you recommend visiting in Toulouse?

In the first place, you have to stop on the Place du Capitole, it's the city hall and its Roman architecture is wonderful. There's also the Basilique Saint Sernin or the docks on the Garonne river, and the whole city actually, with its famous red-pink bricks (which is why Toulouse is called "la ville rose", the pink city).

Is it good to eat out in Toulouse? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

It's amazing to eat out in Toulouse, specially when summer is coming and the weather gets warmer and nicer, everyone sits on a terrace and enjoys a meal while the sun sets... Enchanting!

Is the nightlife good in Toulouse? Where is good to go?

There's a place for anyone to enjoy the night in Toulouse: if you're more of a bar/pub person, the bars close at 1-3am (depending if it's during the week or on the weekend) and there are plenty of them; but if you're more of a club person, there are lots of different types of clubs all around Toulouse!

What advice would you give future students heading to Toulouse?

Prepare yourself to have a lot of fun and to meet the nice and friendly people of the Sud (South)!
