Why did you choose to go to Toulouse, France?

To learn French, I didn’t know Toulouse before but I’ve discovered I really like the city.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I’m staying here the here for 9-10 months (depends on the exams). The money you get from the erasmus is the equivalent to 7 months maximum, 350€ per month.

What is the student lifestyle like in Toulouse?

It’s very good really, there are a lot of students. There’s always something to do and you’re constantly meeting new people.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Toulouse to other students?

I would defenderlo recommend both the city and the university (I’m in Paul Sabatier III, the o my thing I don’t like is that they change the schedule every week so it’s not so easy to make plans)

What is the food like?

It’s fine. You can eat at the university restaurant for 3,25€ for the menu, which is really good. But a prefer to cook. As in restaurants there are all types in the center :)

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Toulouse?

No, I did it through the university

How much does it cost to live in Toulouse?

€€€

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

You get use to it eventually. It also depends if you have the classes in French or not too.
Yes, there are courses available for erasmus students.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Toulouse from your city?

I’m from Madrid and there are really cheap flights from an tó Toulouse. Also you get a bit of discount being erasmus with the ESN card.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Toulouse?

St Pierre square is always full when there’s good weather. And the sunsets there are incredible.
Cafe pop on Mondays is a good place if you like beer.
There are a lot of places that I’ve heard of but I wouldn’t really know because is not something I usually do.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Toulouse?

It depends on what you like. You have every type of food really, Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese, Japanese... and French of course.
I always recommend “la Sherpa” if you like a good crep, salty or sweet.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Lots of museums, churches, couvenants.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Toulouse in the future?

To have a looot of patience when it comes to paper work, it’s a bit frustrating sometimes.
As soon as you get here get the “CAF” help, they will help you pay for the place you’re staying at, it’s important you do it as soon as you can because they will help you from the next month you ask for it.

Hello! I'm going to Toulouse for erasmus this September for 6 months and I don't know if I can get the "CAF" for 6 months...I read that you can get in with a minimum stay of 8 months! Is that true?
