Toledo - Sunset in the old capital
Saying goodbye to the huge windmills in Consuegra, I visited the ancient city of Toledo, the first capital of Spain.
Say goodbye to Giant Windmills in Consuegra - I returned to Toledo
Visit the Ancient City of Toledo
I must tell you that through the history, cultural influences and architectural styles of the religious beliefs here, Toledo has made a distinctive feature of the Spanish cultural treasure. In spite of that, in 1986, Toledo's "distinctive feature" was recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Historic Site.
Toledo - the capital of Castilla- La Mancha
Spain is a country with a system of partitioning autonomous provinces and autonomous regions other than the rest of the country, perhaps because in the past the history of the Spanish nation was formed by many "small states" to form the land, then, "Spain united" as it is today. The city of Toledo is located in the autonomous community of Castilla-La Mancha next to the capital Madrid and is the capital of this autonomous community.
I fulfill my mother's wish of visiting the land of Miguel de Cervantes
In addition, I went to La Mancha because my mother was a literature teacher, and La Mancha was also the inspiration for the famous Spanish writer Miguel de Cervantes nestled in the novel "Don Quixote de La Mancha. / The Don Quixote of La Mancha "the distinct cultural sites of La Mancha. The "Windmills, " "The Lambs, " "the wine packs, " "the sunflowers, " "the olive fruit, " and the "human knight character" of La Mancha are well known in the world.
Don Quixote - written by writer Cervantes.
It was in Toledo that he published the novel Don Quixote de La Mancha in the 17th century and was loved by the Western world. This novel has also been translated into many languages so that humanity can enjoy the story of "the knight Don Quixote. "
Since Toledo is a major city in Castile-La Mancha, I advise visitors not to ignore the humorous but dramatic story of La Mancha's Don Quixote. He's a "bookworm" and has a paranoid mind. He is called Quixada, very much like to collect the story of "knight life" and a bookworm of "knight stories" in that century.
Jin Yong (Louis Liang-yung Cha) - Cervantes of Asia
I am also a passionate fan of Jin Yong in Asia. Probably just as many people love to read the "The Book and the Sword" written Jin Yong and probably many readers of Asia are always dreaming and assimilate themselves into the main characters in the story of the sword. Perhaps everyone in Vietnam has dreamed of being Guo Jing when reading The Legend of the Condor Heroes.
However, what I dreamed of reading was a quick dream, and Quixada was different. He read a lot of books and his mind became a "paranoid" man, "he called himself a duty knight to work" rescue bastard "for all La Mancha people. He changed his name to himself and declared himself "Don Quixote of La Mancha" and set out on his journey. But the paranoid should see the life around where all the victims just need him rescued.
To tell the truth, my paranoid "man of Don Quixote of La Mancha" created so much harm to himself and the life of the people around him. Before dying, he was aware of the damage to his paranoia through the eccentrics in the books he had read. Before closing his eyes, he regretted the harm that his will left behind.
The Statues of Don Quixote and Sancho Panza in Madrid
If you have the opportunity to visit Madrid, you will certainly visit Espana Square. There you will meet the statue of the "knight Don Quixote" on the thin Rocinante horse, the short-waisted Sancho Panza, on the back of Donkey Dapple, and the portrait of Cervantes in the middle of the promo. bare. How funny!
Arrival at Toledo
It is difficult to fully express the feeling of having just stepped on the bus down to the Toledo station, a little cheery for having just completed a windmill visit, a little rush, a little hungry, a little wrapped up as the farewell with a real Donkihote made in Japan, ( read my previous article about Consuegra to know more about that)... what else?
Ah right, feel hot, it ranges from 39 - 40 degrees C, and even more terrible, when from the bus station to the hostel to 1. 1km.
Haizz, 1. 1km is not that far, however, if you notice that I have walked all day from morning to now and especially than the old city of Toledo on the high top hills that would make me more tired.
From the bus station to the old city area I got to a grocery store, bought cream-colored lychee, I found the craving for sweets, and cream of white chocolate which just simple meet my simple needs. (Sin is then I feel terrible thirst: v)
Climb up to the Toledo city - the city on the hills
Climbing also has hundreds of steps winding from the foot of the mountain, Moorish gates with horseshoe architecture appear in front of me, I pay special attention to see a royal icon - Spain Royal Icon with the castle and lion on it.
Then I went through a section of the passage, right on my left-hand side was a small church which used to be a mosque, then being renovated, the streets twisted, I immediately recognized the Islamic presence in each house, every street corner in this city.
Haizz, a little rambling, sums up three main contents about Toledo: the famous Toledo sunset, Toledo and its lovely companions, the intertwining of the three major religions, and a few recommendations for one hostels. I have to admit that among the best hostel I have ever stayed in - Oasis Backpacker Hostel Toledo.
Toledo and my lovely companions.
I check in the hostel, and stay in the same room with a group of friends: 2 US, 1 Hong Kong, 1 French and 1 Italian.
Everyone in the room is quite friendly and in a short time, there was a team of 4 people: 2 Americans, 1 UK and 1 Vietnam. We decided to go out to watch the sunset in Toledo.
Toledo - the story of moving the capital of Spain
On the way, we walked from the city across the bridge to the hill above the river, where there is a very nice view of the city. We have a good chat.
One is thanks to American girlfriend, a Spanish teacher whom I discovered the reason that the old Spanish king moved the capital from Toledo to Madrid.
My point is that the narrow Toledo terrain is worthy of being the capital of the great Spanish nation, just as King Ly Thai To moved the capital from the floodplain of Hoa Lu to Hanoi.
Kha Kha turned out not to be dragged by the tiger dragons, nor because of the design for future generations, but the reason is simple because the king of Spain likes a king in Europe those kings like hunting animals.
The difference of the hunting troupes between the East and West was hunting with thousands of men and hunting for months.
Since from Madrid to the hunting areas is more convenient, the King decided to move the capital to Madrid.
Chinese immigrants in Latin American - so scared
The second is that I have heard the frightening fact that there are enormous chinese immigrants to South America which is quite a lot so now in South America have a large number of mixed Chinese population, they are not human South America, also not Chinese, more specifically, Chinese people are unaware of the existence of this community.
I admit that I am influenced by Vietnamese-Chinese political relations, and I think that wherever the Chinese listen, they are afraid.
After a pleasant chat, we went to the beautiful view to see the sunset of Toledo.
Sunset of Toledo
It is true that the sunset in Toledo is very beautiful, as I once had the opportunity to watch the sunset in Santorini with long purple roses that stretch out to the horizon, the sunset in Toledo is a bright yellow light far away. The city of Toledo sank into the night.
Probably because of its special location on a flat area, there is a peaceful river that makes sunset in Toledo more beautiful.
Or perhaps it was the capital of Toledo, where the sunset was so good that only one important city center was in the late afternoon.
Looking at the sun slowly dives down, feeling the wind blowing cold cars blowing, each light bulb in the city is lit,
I suddenly feel the slightest, how much tired of the long moving, anxious for the plan to travel south of Spain suddenly vanished, then the other is to see the sunrise slowly kissing off the sky in Toledo.
The Alcazar fortress is in the highest position in the city
Far away, I can see the fortress Alcazar, located in the highest position of the city, was built Roman times. The Alcazar fortress has a square floor, with each tower on each side. Each face in a particular architectural style.
The façade of the Renaissance architecture, the second face of the Plateresque, the eastern side of the medieval architecture and the fourth side of the Churrigueresque.
Inside, the Alcazar Military Museum displays weapons collections, of which the most distinctive is the Toledo sword collection. When Catholics ruled Toledo, the Alcazar became a royal palace. When Carlos I moved to Madrid, the fort became a military training school.
During the Spanish Civil War from 1936 to 1939, the Alcazar fortress was almost completely destroyed during the 70-day siege of 1936. Later, the fort was rebuilt as a military museum.
Most of the buildings in Toledo have a combination of Jewish and Moroccan architectural structures.
Sunset gradually faded in the ancient capital
The sunset gradually fades as fate as the capital of Toledo once vanquished.
Apart from a bit tired of taking pictures, the tripod is broken. Making routine sunset photography difficult, I still have some good work not bad.
That night we went to the hostel, except when it was dark and we had to climb hundreds of stairs back to the city, then I went to have a shower and have a good sleep, to rest your legs after a long day of walking.
Bonus in the group is Joe Lee, a British-Chinese friend of mine, a low-pitched man who speaks humorously, with a voice like Ben Stiller. More specifically, the photo has enough kits including camera, tripod, flycam for making video.
He is a vlogger on youtube, we are very excited to see his product.
