Why did you choose to go to Tartu, Estonia?

It is a nice town for degree-seeking students (with English based courses) and with an excellent cost of living.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

The scholarship will last 4 months. I received a grant of 1, 000 euros in total.

What is the student lifestyle like in Tartu?

Hardworking people that used to study a lot. Good for getting to know people of all around the world and interact with them.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Tartu to other students?

Yes. International staff of the University is always able to respond your questions and to make you feel comfortable in the city.

What is the food like?

You have a lot of options from vegan food to meat houses. Good flavours and honest prices.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Tartu?

No. International staff instructions at the internet website of the university helped me a lot to find a nice and good place to stay (UT). Be aware about deadlines.

How much does it cost to live in Tartu?

Including all stipends (housing, food, and transport) you should spend around 750-900 euros/month. Not including club parties or other paid activities for fun.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

If you start to practice the spell details you can get around some grips easily with a native helping you. There exists an online course English or Russian based to learn Estonian (Keeleklikk). And University offers courses too.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Tartu from your city?

Airplane and train.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Tartu?

It depends on the season. Cold winter you have a few good coffee shops and pub options, but spring and summer you have a lot of them. Cultural and music festivals information are easy to get from city official website (Tartu Culture).

There are a lot of good restaurants next university buildings with a lot of options.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

AHHAA museum and University Botanical Garden.

Tartu is a very nice city, go there!
