Because of the low cost of study, living and a world class university.

What is the student lifestyle like in Tartu?
Very dynamic and active.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Tartu to other students?
Certainly.
What is the food like?
There are great restaurants, a big choice of cuisines, amazing taste and fantastic prices.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Tartu?
No. I rent directly from the owner.
How much does it cost to live in Tartu?
Around 500 euros including rent this being a generous estimate. You could live on much less.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
Yes, estonian is easy to learn.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Tartu from your city?
By plane.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Tartu?
I'll go to Zavood and Shooters.
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Tartu?
Pahad Poisid, Kolm Tilli, Pierre, RP9..., and many more.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
The museums and nearby cities such as Viljandi, Elva and Saremaa.
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Tartu in the future?
Enjoy Tartu. It's a place like no other.
