Tarragona

One day in Tarragona...

Hello!

I wanted to tell you about my day trip to Tarragona. During my time in Barcelona, I took a day out to visit this Roman city.

Tarragona is approx. one hour by train from Barcelona. If you live more than an hour away from Barcelona then it would be worthwhile staying overnight.

Unfortunately the weather was not on our side and our sightseeing tour started with pouring rain. The city is by the sea so is also known for its gorgeous beaches - obviously the day that we visited wasn't beach weather.

After what felt like an eternity walking through the old town in the pouring rain, we stopped at a little restaurant to warm up. We enjoyed a delicious three-course meal at a bargain price and then walked round the town a bit more.

To warm up again we had some Spanish 'Vermut' (which warmed us right through) in a small bar on the church square.

Despite the rain, our day in Tarragona was wonderful and I would definitely go back to Tarragona in better weather.
