Why did you choose to go to Szeged, Hungary?
I choose Szeged because they offer courses in English and the weather was one of my characteristics.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
We have different kind of scholarship depending on the region. 150 euros/month and 1000 euros the first month.
What is the student lifestyle like in Szeged?
Discovering. Relaxing. Meeting.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Szeged to other students?
Yes!
What is the food like?
Totally different! Spicy (paprika everywhere).
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Szeged?
It wasn't a problem. Be careful because the owners aren't always honest.
How much does it cost to live in Szeged?
It's cheaper than in France. Transport is free (Erasmus). 150/month for the flat.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
Hungarian is so difficult and English it depends but you improve quickly your language because you have to speak in English all the time.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Szeged from your city?
Train. Bus. Car.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Szeged?
Budapest.
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Szeged?
John bull pub.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
Holloko. Pecs. Budapest. Balaton lake. Szeged: thermal baths, main places, cathedral...
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Szeged in the future?
Enjoy your Erasmus! Szeged is a very nice place for students.
