Why did you choose Sheffield, United Kingdom?

I chose Sheffield because it's a city with a very good student environment. Besides, the city is not very big so you can walk almost everywhere. Finally, the University of Sheffield is quite recognised and offers great opportunities for students.

How long was your exchange? How much money did you receive for the scholarship?

My stay was 9 months long and I received a scholarship of 4000€.

How is the student environment in Sheffield?

Great, the city is full of international students. I had the chance to meet people from France, China, Japan, Greece... Furthermore, you can go out any day because there are tons of pubs.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Sheffield to other students?

Yes.

How is the food of the country?

It's England, what do you expect? Although close to where I live there is a supermarket of international food where I've find a lot of Spanish vegetables.

Was it hard to find accommodation in Sheffield?

No, thanks to web pages. I think I actually found accommodation through Erasmusu. The University also offers housing.

How much does it cost to live in Sheffield?

Depends.

What about the language? Did you attend any course at university?

I didn't attend any course. At first it was hard because the accent is quite strong, but after three months I am able to fully understand it without trouble. Also, they make use of the word 'love' all the time to refer to you, for example shop assistants or taxi drivers.

What is the most economic way to get to Sheffield from your city?

Flight to Manchester and from there, train directly to Sheffield.

What places would you recommend for going out in Sheffield?

Corporation and Plug.

And cultural sites?

Sheffield centre and the gardens.
