It simply was the best thing that could happen to a random student from Lithuania. Since I was 12, I was dreaming to see Spain and especially Barcelona. I needed 9 years to force my dream come true. Erasmus program was a great opportunity not only to visit Spain for 2 weeks, but to live there for 5 months and to feel the culture, to compare my country and Spain and to feel cultural shock.

I had only one choice, only one university in Spain, it was University of Deusto. Deusto is separated on 2 campuses, in Bilbao and in San Sebastian. I am studying Tourism and Hospitality, so my campus was in San Sebastian. I was burning with a huge wish to go to Bilbao, and felt so sad, when my international coordinator told me, Im going to San Sebastian. I decided to google this city... And suddenly I felt that it can’t be true, this city is too beautiful to exist. But, yes this city exists. It’s the most beautiful city in Spain, even Barcelona wasn’t so awesome.

When I came to San Sebastian and found a flat, start living with my friends from Lithuania I understood that this part of Spain is not Spain at all. This is Land of Basque people. And even do not try to say, that it’s the same nationality. No, it’s not the same. I had experience with real Spanish people from south of Spain, from Andalucia and I could tell, Basque people are totally different in everything. But still, they have one main common thing – hospitality and helpfulness. This people are ready to help you at every step! I just fell in love with people and it was impossible to not fell in love with San Sebastian.

This city is so small, but still it has everything in one place. Beautiful and sandy beaches for lovers of surfing or just sunbathing. Unforgettable nature corners, for big lovers of nature. Traditional and tasty food, best parties ever, museums, shopping halls and many other things to do. If you have opportunity to choose between 2 or more cities, choose San Sebastian, you wouldn’t regret, I am sure.
