Amaia´s Experience in San Sebastián, Spain

What do you think about San Sebastián as a city to live in? Would you recommend it? What´s it like?

It´s a really quiet city, but also really lively. There´s always something to do or somewhere to visit, and if not there´s always the beach or the mountain... The only problem is for anyone who isn´t used to the Basque Country´s microclimate...

What´s the student life like in San Sebastián?

There are groups which organise all kinds of different activities and events. Both the locals and the Erasmus students work together without a problem.

Did you struggle to find accommodation in San Sebastián? Do you have any advice for finding somewhere?

There´s always adverts up at the University, but it´s best to start looking as soon as possible and don´t leave it until the last minute.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food is incredible, full of flavour and there are things suitable for all sorts of diets.

What places would you recommend to visit in San Sebastián

You must visit Ulia and Igueldo for the best views of the city.

And what about eating in San Sebastián? Can you tell us some of your favourite places?

It has everything : from pintxos and sandwiches to restaurants and ciderhouses. There´s something to suit everyone´s tastes and for any occasion. In my opinion, there´s nothing better than grabbing a bite to eat in La Mejillonera and going to the port to eat it!
