What is it like to live in Rouen? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
Rouen is a great tiny city. Near to Paris but without the downside of Paris. The organisation of the transportation in Rouen is one of the best of the world. Wherever you want to go, there is a bus which go there, just fantastic! It rains a lot but its an advantage: the city is green!
What is the student lifestyle like in Rouen?
Basic. University all the week-long. Studies and leisure for the week-end.
How much does it cost to live in Rouen?
Life is a little bit expensive.... but there some convenient shops like Lidl where one can find what he need at a affordable price.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Rouen? Is there any advice you can give?
It's not difficult, just ask real-estate agencies and you can find very quickly. There are a lot of property project especially dedicated to student's accomodation.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Food is good. My favourite dish is not really local... My favourite dish is from a nice and cheap Afghan restaurant "Les Délices Afghans". Best saffron rice I've ever eaten!
What places would you recommend visiting in Rouen?
The panorama at university, to have a stunning view of the center and the port. Walk along the quay of Seine river.
Is it good to eat out in Rouen? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
The best-value-for-money restaurant is LES DELICES AFGHANS 150 Rue Martainville, 76000 Rouen, Tel : 02 32 08 63 68
There are other restaurants but they are too expensive for a student.
Is the nightlife good in Rouen? Where is good to go?
I didnt experience a relevant spot.
What advice would you give future students headed to Rouen?
Enjoy your student life. Ok, you're in France but PLEASE try also to discover the other nationalities which are there. Please, try to go further in Normandy because there are so many great places in the region of Normandy!
Visit Dieppe in early September, visit Tourville sur Arques in June!
