What is it like to live in Rouen? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Rouen is a city full of history and wee can see it in the city center thanks to typical architecture.

Rouen is also a modern city full of life, it is one of the three economic cores of Normandy.

How much does it cost to live in Rouen?

A flat or a shared flat costs at least 300€ per month whithout charges.

The food can be from 3, 60€ at "Restaurant Universitaire" to 9, 50€ in restaurants in the city (called "Menu du jour"). It is more economic to buy food in supermarkets.

About drinks it is about 7 or 8€ for a cocktail, for a beer or a glass of wine it depends on what you ask and where.

Is it difficult to find an accommodation in Rouen? Is there any advice you can give?

You can find easily accommodation. There are many student residence next to the universities.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

A speciality from Normandy is cheese : Camembert, Neufchatel, Livarot...

But you can easily find dishes without cheese!

The cream is also very used in Normandy (instead of butter for instance).

The speciality of Rouen is the "Canard au sang" but it is hard to find it!

What places would you recommend visiting in Rouen?

Rouen is called "La ville aux 100 clochets", it means there are many many churches, chapels and a marvellous cathedral!

In Rouen you can find many restaurants at every prices and for everybody : "crêperies", burger house, French traditional, gastronomy, Indians, Japanese...

Is the nightlife good in Rouen? Where is good to go?

You can find many bars which are crowed from Thursday to Saturday. Some nightclubs are good, especially on Thursdays for students.
