What is it like to live in Rouen? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Beautiful historical city. Wander around the old nice streets, visit the Cathedral and churches. Go to visit the "Musée de la Ferronnerie" and of course the Musée des Beaux Arts.

What is the student lifestyle like in Rouen?

I have not studied in Rouen.

How much does it cost to live in Rouen?

Normal prices like any provincial French city.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Rouen? Is there any advice you can give?

Rouen is pretty touristic so book your hotel in advance...

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Normandy is known for its "Crème fraîche" dishes. Delicious but you should have a walk afterwards to digest it!

What places would you recommend visiting in Rouen?

Cathedral, Quartier des Antiquaires (old Antiques area), all in the city center is beautiful.

Is it good to eat out in Rouen? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Very cheap and lovely food in Charcuterie Hardy on the Place du Vieux Marché. Not gastronomic, but very good price (10 eur for a 3 courses menu with one drink) for what you get.

Is the nightlife good in Rouen? Where is good to go?

No clue anymore...

What advice would you give future students heading to Rouen?

Make sure you have the right accomodation in Rouen, as the University is not in the center of Rouen, and going up to its location takes time. So make sure you have a 'student' accomodation nearby the University before you start your studies.
