What is it like to live in Rouen? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

The city is like a medieval city since Rouen was popular there is a long time ago. Nowadays, the city is in a new development which impulse the activity of itself. Rouen is famous for its 100 church ("la ville aux 100 clochers"). Also, there are beautiful squares where lots of young people hang out.

What is the student lifestyle like in Rouen?

There is a grand diversity for the students so this is complicated to analyse ourselves.

How much does it cost to live in Rouen?

I would say twice less than Paris or even less.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Rouen? Is there any advice you can give?

I don't really know, I am used to live by my parents so this is not a problem to me. But some friends who study with me have great apartments. As I said, this is cheaper than in Paris and the accommodation are bigger.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

In Rouen there are numerous "kebab". But there is also a grand diversity : Asian restaurants, Indian, pizzas, burgers, etc.

What places would you recommend visiting in Rouen?

Rouen has a big disadvantage : the weather that every single French person make a cliché. But honestly, in the North of France, I think that Rouen has to be visited in third position (geographically above Paris).

Is the nightlife good in Rouen? Where is good to go?

It depends on the day. All the students go to party or nightclub on Thursday night (because after, many people that come from outside of Rouen come back to their parents on weekends).

What advice would you give future students heading to Rouen?

Do not hesitate to meet every type of university.
