Why did you choose to go to Riga, Latvia?

I chose Riga because it's an unusual destination to have on your CV and also gave me the opportunity to experience lots of new things, discover new cultures and study other scientific subjects.

How long did you stay?

Six months.

What is student life like in Riga?

The atmosphere is great, it's a bustling city with lots to do, lots of places to visit, parks and scenery. You can meet people from all over.

Would you recommend the city and university to other students?

Absolutely!

What is the food like?

Quite healthy! The amount of vegetables makes up for the fatty meat and potatoes. They definitely have some must-try dishes!

Was it difficult to find accommodation in Riga?

Not really! It was actually quite easy for me to find accommodation.

What is the cost of living like in Riga?

You can live comfortably in Riga with 300-500 euros/month (accommodation, groceries, transport).

How did you find learning the language? Did you attend any language classes organised by the university?

Yes, I took a Latvian language class.

What is the cheapest way of getting to Riga?

By plane, without a doubt.

The old town!

Museum of the Occupation of Latvia, the KGB building, the orthodox cathedrals...
