Why did you choose to go to Riga, Latvia?
Latvia is a country with rich history which resembles Estonia. It is somewhere in between the old and new and you can get the sens of brotherly understanding in here.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
My stay in Riga lasts for 2 and a half months and I got from Erasmus about 1200 euros, my school and country added some extra support so it all came to 1900 euros.
What is the student lifestyle like in Riga?
It all depends on your own goals which you want to achieve with your studies abroad. If you want to study then most of the students study hard if you want to party it is possible to do it rowdy as well.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Riga to other students?
Yes
What is the food like?
If you go to a restaurant which is not fancy then the food is cheap and you get a whole lot. It tastes goos.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Riga?
No, you can find most accommodations on the internet but for the cheapest and best ones it is better to know some locals.
How much does it cost to live in Riga?
It depends in where and how you live. You can rent a room or an apartment for 300-600 euros, but you can live in a dorm for a 100 euros a month.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
The language is not that hard if you get used to it. It would take at least 6 months to get a handle on it. The courses are available if you come in the beginning of a semester.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Riga from your city?
By buss, if you are lucky you can get a buss ticket for 5 euros.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Riga?
Most popular place in Riga is a pub called Ala which resides in the old city.
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Riga?

What good cultural sites are there to visit?
The old city is very beautiful, you can go by city tour buss to have a sight seeing and the zoo is quit nice. Transportation museum.
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Riga in the future?
Be brave, take risks and enjoy your stay! :D
