I arrived to Höfn on an October afternoon and went with my boyfriend and his parents to look for a good restaurant for dinner. Since we were in a small town and after the tourist season, there really weren't many options. Since we were all tired, we opted for the only sit-down restaurant still open during this season.

The restaurant also serves as a cafe and a bar. The atomosphere was relaxed, yet served well for good conversation. It had an international vibe - I got the feeling that there were many young people eating there from the local hostels.

The food was absolutely fantastic! Since they only use fresh, local ingredients, I knew I was in for a treat. I splurged and got one of the most expensive items on the menu - lobster. Höfn is known for is excellent lobster, so I decided to go straight for the good stuff on my day of arrival to Höfn. Other dishes on the table included the club sandwich, which was huge, and the lobster pasta (also good). It all went down nicely with a good bottle of wine.

The restaurant is situated in the heart of the town, and it wouldn't take long to walk there from any part of Höfn.
If you are looking to splurge, hit up this restaurant because it's the only one you'll find open during the winter months.
