What is it like to live in Quito? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Quito is the Capital of Ecuador it has everything that a student or a traveler needs. It has the most extended historical Downtown in all South America. Whit a lot of museums and history. It is 30 minutes close from the city "Mitad del Mundo"

What is the student lifestyle like in Quito?

There are like 9 Universities with good infrastructure. It is easy to move in the city and the Universities always give an open time to make some practice or to have a job.

How much does it cost to live in Quito?

For an student it can cost from 500 dollars to 800 dollars per month. Including transportation, rent, food.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Quito? Is there any advice you can give?

Is a little difficult to find accommodation. There are some websites where students can find apartments but it is better if someone life's with more people in one apartment.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food is really good. You can find every kind of food. For example American food, Spanish dishes, food from other countries of South America, Asian food, all you can eat, food trucks, Typically food of Ecuador specially from the see and at low cost. My favorite food is the last one we have Ceviche, Shrimps and big fishes.

What places would you recommend visiting in Quito?

The Historical Downtown, Neighborhood La Floresta, Teleferico to the top of Pichincha's mountain, Mitad del Mundo, City of Cumbaya and Papallacta thermal water resorts.

Is it good to eat out in Quito? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes there is a lot of good restaurants. Most of them in Neighborhood La Floresta. One of my favorites places is "Alas Benditas"

Is the nightlife good in Quito? Where is good to go?

The nightlife in Quito always start at 8 pm but at 3 am all Pubs, Bars and Diskotheks muss close. There are good places close from Hotel Quito on the González Suárez street. Or beer pubs in the Neighborhood La Floresta. A great place to go at night with friends or in couple is Guapulo, a place with an amazing landscape view.

What advice would you give future students heading to Quito?

Enjoy the city. Be careful with electric devices on the street. Try to go out of home earlier because the traffic sometimes is horrible.
