Experience in Poznań, Poland by Weronika
What is it like to live in Poznań? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
Actually Poznań is a really nice city, I would even say that is the best city to study in!
I've always lived near Poznań but I am here since like 4 years and I can't complain about it. When you are a student, it is so easy, because most of the things like train, tram, bus, cinema, theater, etc., are cheaper.
What is the student lifestyle like in Poznań?
Like I said before there are no things to complain about. We have really great public and private universities. Many opportunities to study!
How much does it cost to live in Poznań?
For a really nice room in the center you will spend 200 euros (bills included) or 300 euros for a studio so I think it is a really good deal when you are foreigners.
About our PEKA (it's the card for using transportation - buses, tram, even those night one) its cost per month is 12, 5 euro or for the whole semester, it will be like 30 euro.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Poznań? Is there any advice you can give?
No, it is not that hard: Rent Flat Poland or Polish one Gumtree.
If anyone want help for looking for a place to stay, I am ready to help everybody because I know how hard is to be a foreigner somewhere.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Food is really good and there are lot of places to eat.
What places would you recommend visiting in Poznań?
There are so many... it depends on what kind of person you are. We have great clubs, restaurants, museums, pools, gyms and also many, many architecture.
Is it good to eat out in Poznan? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
We have many restaurants here. Really good sushi one (Kuro sushi) or burger one (Whiskey in the jar or Many truck one), Polish restaurants are also the best.
I could say that here in Poznań there are a lot of cafeterias to eat really great sweets!
Is the nightlife good in Poznań? Where is good to go?
Really good! The best clubs are in Wrocławska street (clubs like Czekolada, Cuba libre) also around main square but I think that the best clubs are SQ club and Blue note. We also have Pacha club!
What advice would you give future students heading to Poznań?
Just be yourself and have a good time here! If you are good with people, people will be good with you too! And don't be scared to ask for help.
