Experience in Poznan, Poland by Ola
What is it like to live in Poznań? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
Definitely recommended, the city has its climate and charm.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
The Old Market Square is a gem. You can eat well and cheap at the same time. The restaurants with local food are good, check out pierogi (dumplings) and żurek (soup)- total classics, but always delicious.
What places would you recommend visiting in Poznań?
Cathedral Island in the evening and Porta Posnania (interactive centre).
Maybe it's just me but I really like walking around the Plac Wolności for no specific reason.
Is it good to eat out in Poznań? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
There are several nice cafes, my favourite is Cocoa Republic and Ławka, just by the Old Square.
Made in China (Rico's kitchen) is amazing, you get tremendous amounts of food which is soooo good... Definitely a place to visit; it is by the Plac Wolności.
You can also try Teriyaki Sushi, Korean and Japanese food; not only for sushi... Sometimes they also give you really delicious and a bit unusual desserts like green tea tiramisu for free.
What advice would you give future students heading to Poznań?
Don't think too much and come here!
