What is it like to live in Poznan? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Poznań is a nice city, especially for young people. However, when students are out (holidays, Christmas, etc) it's quite empty. On the other hand, there is always something to do, you can go shopping, exercise (you must see Malta lake! ), sightseeing or just relax in parks, in the river, etc.

What is the student lifestyle like in Poznan?

At the weekends it's ok, there is anything you like: pubs, clubs (with different types of music), bars and restaurants. During workdays and on the holidays it's quiet and no rushing.

How much does it cost to live in Poznan?

Not much. It depends of course where you eat (Mleczne Bary serve quite cheap and tasty food, but in restaurants you have to pay 5-30 € to eat well) and where you live (rooms for 100-300 €, depends if you live alone or with someone in a room, I don't know what's the situation with Student Houses).

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Poznan? Is there any advice you can give?

It's hard to find something very interesting (cheap and in a good spot, renovated, etc). But to find anything it's easy peasy.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

You can find all the cuisines you like: Polish, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, French, Italian...

What places would you recommend visiting in Poznan?

  • Stary browar
  • Malta
  • Ostrów Tumski
  • KontenerArt (open only May-September)
  • Zamek Cesarski
  • Satry Rynek

Is it good to eat out in Poznan? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

It depends on your wallet.

Cheaper places:

  • Manekin (pancakes!, Ogrodowa street)
  • Marche (you have to wait for your food, in Okrąglak, 27 Grudnia street)

A little bit more expensive is Tośka Cantine (Opera house, Fredry street). You just have to ask someone from Poznań, we will recommend something.

Is the nightlife good in Poznan? Where is good to go?

I like pubs, like Kultowa on Wrocławska street, there is only one club I like and it's Słodownia in Stary Browar.

What advice would you give future students heading to Poznan?

Don't be afraid, we only look gloomy, later we open ourselves more.
