What is it like to live in Poznan? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

It's pretty nice to live in Poznań. Although not everyone would be accord with that, there are a lot of cultural events - from big, famous to small, cameral. Living there is living surrounded by beautiful architucture. If you are a nature lover, there is plenty of lakes and forests close to city and also zoos, botanic gardens inside.

What is the student lifestyle like in Poznan?

Hard to say, I'm not sure what does mean:)

How much does it cost to live in Poznan?

It's of course more expensive than living in a small city, but it's less ruining than living in some of other bigger cities (Varsaw, Wrocław).

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Poznan? Is there any advice you can give?

It can be frustrating, like elswhere, I suppose. Use gumtree.pl or tablica.pl - the most rich of flat ads, I think.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

There's a tradition of meals which contains potatos in Poznań - Pyra Bar - go there and see, you'll not regret!

What places would you recommend visiting in Poznan?

Palmiarnia, Botanic Garden, both of zoos, river area... - well, I like green:)

Is it good to eat out in Poznan? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

GreenWay - cheap, good, vegetarian chain; Bik Mik, Głogowska - very nice version of burgers, worth of their price! Open 24 h, etc.

Is the nightlife good in Poznan? Where is good to go?

It's quite ok. Some students prefer to party at home or at dormitories - there is a long tradition dorm-parties. Personally I prefer clubs - Dragon, Meskalina, if you want just to sit, talk, drink and often listen to some nice concert, while Minoga is an interesting place also for dance, even if you'll maybe think, it's no 'glamour' at all, but it has an 'atmosphere'. But I'd like some wider choose, regarding places to dance without an esagerated payment.

What advice would you give future students heading to Poznan?

Relax.
