Experience in Poznan, Poland by Aleksander
What is it like to live in Poznan? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
It is quite German-like, so the manners and mentality are typical of German one: serious and stand-offish, at least for Polish. Immigrants are treated better.
What is the student lifestyle like in Poznan?
I am not a party guy, but there is a lot of going in Poznan. Concerts, presentation etc.
How much does it cost to live in Poznan?
Definitely more than in smaller cities, that's sure. However, students get a lot of discounts.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Poznan? Is there any advice you can give?
It is not, but you have to pay more for private than for dorm.
What advice would you give future students heading to Poznan?
It is good to rent a bike, at least for warmer months. Public transport is quite slow and bring anxieties, maybe except the "Pestka" (the fast tram) going to the center. Pestka is the fastest.
