What is it like to live in Poznan? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Poznań is a city of students! One per five people living in this city is a student!

What is the student lifestyle like in Poznan?

If you are a student and you want experience student life in Poland I definately recommend Poznan. There is a lot clubs, cafes, restaurants and other entertaining places for students.

How much does it cost to live in Poznan?

If you want to rent a a single room in a flat with other students it costs about 150 Euro per month (bills included). There is a lot of discounts for students like e.g month ticket for buses and trams cost 15 Euro. Discounts are almost everywhere like: restaurants, clubs, gym ( you need only to show your student card).

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Poznan? Is there any advice you can give?

No, it is very easy ;) You can find some offers on this websites: http://www.gumtree.pl/fp-pokoje-do-wynajecia/poznan/c9000l3200366, http://www.kwatery.ue.poznan.pl/ The websites are in polish only...but when you have sb who knows this language, he/she will help you for sure. You can also ask members of ESN POZNAŃ ;)

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Polish food is very tasty! You should definately try PIEROGI, BIGOS, ŻUREK and GOŁĄBKI! :) These are traditional polish dishes. If you want to try other cuisine, of course in Poznań there is a lot of different restaurants (Greek, Chinese, Indian). The best polish restaurant with traditional food is called "Chatka Babuni" on Wrocławska street and it's quite cheap (ideal for students).

What places would you recommend visiting in Poznan?

Old Market, Malta lake, beautifull shopping mall "Stary Browar", Rusałka (lake), Zoo, Bamberka fountain on the Old Market Square asnd many more monuments in the Old City.

Is it good to eat out in Poznan? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes, it is very cheap. I recommend Chatka Babuni, Manekin, Pizzeria Dagrasso, Roti, Tej, Cactus Factoria Picollo

Is the nightlife good in Poznan? Where is good to go?

Veryyyyy goood. Many clubs for students. The best one is Cuba Libre, where you can meet lot of Erasmus students ;) You can also have a lot of fun in club 22, Van Diesel, Shanti, Czekolada. If you prefer pubs I recommend Kuźnia, Piwko na Przeciwko, De ja vu.

What advice would you give future students heading to Poznan?

Visit as much places as you can! Enjoy your life here and don't hesitate to ask members of Esn to help you ;)
