Erasmus Experience in Poznań, Poland by Yannaelle
Why did you choose to go to Poznań, Poland?
Because my exchange school, Adam Mickiewicz University, offers a large number of courses you can attend. Moreover, the prices are really cheap and we can party a lot.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
I'm staying one semester and I have received around €900.
What is the student lifestyle like in Poznań?
There is always something to do. Students are always going out!
Would you recommend the city and the university of Poznań to other students?
Of course!
What is the food like?
I miss a little the food of my country—France—, but you can easily find something to eat here. Some shops are open 24/7.
Was it difficult to find your accommodation in Poznań?
I decided to stay in a place alone, so it is a little expensive. A shared flat is easier to come across. Also, it's cheaper.
How much does it cost to live in Poznań?
It's not expensive.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the university?
Yes, I am taking Polish courses.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Poznań from your city?
There are some cheap flights but I think the bus is the cheapest means of transport.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Poznań?
If you want to meet students, you must go to a pub called Kultowa, for sure. If you prefer a club, then you can go to Cuba Libre Social Club or SQ Klub. But there are many more options.
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Poznań?
There is a piano bar in Stary Browar (a combination of a shopping centre and an art gallery in the centre of town), which is amazing but quite expensive.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
A lot of museums and the old town.
