How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

All portuguese students have a scholarship for the time they study abroad. I studied in Poznan one semester and I received 1000 euros (800 euros in April and 200 when i finished my studies in Poland).

Would you recommend the city and the University of Poznan to other students?

yes, absolutely!

What is the food like?

i really liked polish food. it's kind of "heavy" so it keeps everyone warm on winter and it's really really tasty! if you're going to Poland, don't forget to eat "zurek", best soup I ate there!

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Poznan?

i chose to stay at the dorms, so it was really easy.

How much does it cost to live in Poznan?

around €500/month.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

There were no language courses available at the University of Arts when I was there (almost two years ago) but all my classes were in english, so I didn't really need to learn polish. I just had to learn how to say things like Hello, Goodbye, Thank you and the number of my dorms room.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Poznan from your city?

I'm from Portugal so I took a plane from Porto to Warsaw and then I picked up a train to Poznan.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Poznan?

Meskalina and Klub Drago if you want live music. Proletaryat if you want to hang out with friends and drink some beers. Minoga if you want to dance.. Around Stary Rynek there's a lot of good places to hang out and dance.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Poznan?

If you are a chocolate person, you should visit Cacao Republika, on Stary Rynek. You should also go to Pierogarka. They cook the best pierogis I have ever tried.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

There's a lot of places in Poznan you should go before you go back home. Poznań Town Hall, Museum of Contemporary Art, Museum of Instruments, Royal Castle, Parish Church of St. Stanislaus..
