Porto is an amazing city full of culture and beautiful places to see. I am really enjoying here and I recommend to all people to visit it.

The city was the best destination of 2017. In fact it fascinates you from the first moment and you fall in love with it.

What is the student lifestyle like in Porto?

The lifestyle in Porto is very good. You can relax in the weekend and enjoy the city, because there is always something to see and do.

If you go out for a walk you can discover beautiful places. In the city there are a lot of international students and there are some events organized for them.

How much does it cost to live in Porto?

The life in Porto is cheaper than other European cities.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Porto? Is there any advice you can give?

For me it was no very easy to find an accommodation but if you are an Erasmus student you can live in a university residence. This residence are very good to know other people and very cheap.

Some websites can help you to look for an house but if you want to live in a residence the best thing to do is to contact the university and ask for information.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food is delicious. I want to recommend some nice dishes:

Arroz de Marisco, Sopa Caldo Verde, Bacalhau á Brás, Sardinhas assadas, Pataniscas de bacalhau, Bifana, Cozinha a portuguesa, Pasteis de Nata and so on. You need to try Porto wine, that is very good.

What places would you recommend visiting in Porto?

I think that all places of the city are beautiful. If you walk through the streets you can discover characteristic and particular details also in the houses. But I think that the best places that you can visit are: Ribeira, Ponte Dom Luis I, Palacio de Cristal, Aliados, Torre dos Clérigos, Cantine de Vila Nova de Gaia, Mercado do Bolhão, Matosinhos.

Is it good to eat out in Porto? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes it's very good to eat out in Porto. If you want to eat fish dishes I recommend you to go in Matosinhos. In fact, in the streets of this part of the city there are a lot of typical and small restaurant which cook delicious fish dishes.

Is the nightlife good in Porto? Where is good to go?

The nightlife is good in Porto. In Aliados, near the Clérigos, there are a lot of pubs that every night organize some events, especially in the weekend. Near the rectory of the University of Porto there are also a lot of pubs that are always full of Erasmus people.

What advice would you give future students heading to Porto?

If you are planning to do an Erasmus internship I want to recommend you this city that is perfect for international student. The university, the transport and the organization are very good. Portuguese people are very nice and the city is beautiful.
