What is it like to live in Porto? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

The city of Porto is amazing. I love living there because of the people... they are really kind for the people. If you need something you can talk with any person and he will help you.

What is the student lifestyle like in Porto?

The lifestyle depends only on the things that you like to do. My lifestyle is take a coffee with some friends and stay there talking about everything. I don't really like to go out, but if you do, don't worry because you have a lot of places to go.

How much does it cost to live in Porto?

Depends on the place where you live. Now I am living in Milan, so Porto is cheaper. But if I was from Poland that will be totally different, in this case Porto is much more expensive.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Porto? Is there any advice you can give?

I have family there, so I don't have any problem with that. I can give you some advice though. When you know the days to go, start searching fast... Here in Milan, I didn't send anything beforehand so it was very complicated to find a house, it's good now but in the beginning it was really hard. Pay attention.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Francesinha is the best in Porto!

What places would you recommend visiting in Porto?

  • Torre dos Clérigos
  • Avenida dos Aliados
  • Bookshop Lello
  • See a game of soccer
  • Galerias de Paris

What advice would you give future students heading to Porto?

  • Enjoy everything in Porto, go at night clubs, get a coffee... there are a lot of nice places. Also, and more importantly, learn Portuguese and study.
  • You can go to Ponte de Lima, the oldest village from Portugal, it's an amazing place to see because it's calm and relaxing. It's 1 hour from Porto.
  • See Braga, it's another place near Porto, and it's also good.
  • Go eat a croissant at Padaria Ribeiro, they're perfect.

Enjoy every single day.
