Why did you choose to go to Porto, Portugal?

good references from my schoolmates
good subjects at university - some of them we dont have in my country, so it was challenge to learn something new
nice country

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I had scholarship for 1 semester
my scholarship was around 300 euros/month

What is the student lifestyle like in Porto?

first months its quite easy, but at the time you need to finish your projects and begin exams it harder and I was really busy that time, I spent at school and in library lot of time to study and write my projects

Would you recommend the city and the University of Porto to other students?

exactly!
it was very nice experience, teachers are nice (most of them) and university the same

What is the food like?

very fat, but delicious
I liked the most "francesinha", bacalhao, feijoada and seafood
yummiii

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Porto?

it was not very hard to find it :)

How much does it cost to live in Porto?

more or less 400-500 euros per month

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

I used most of the time english, but if Im not that lazy I could speak very well portuguese
yes, there are some courses on University

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Porto from your city?

plane

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Porto?

mondays - Ribeira
wednesday - piolho
other days - wherever you go its fun and lot of nice people :)
and for sure erasmus parties are good

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Porto?

for francesinha is the best place Bufete Fase on rua santa catarina

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

port wine cellars
torre dos clérigos
palacio de crystal
dont forget to try surfing in matosinhos

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Porto in the future?

enjoy your stay, dont be shy, talk to portuguese they are really nice and friendly (Im still in contact with some of them after 2 years)

travel as much as possible, cuz Portugal is wonderful country :)
