Why did you choose to go to Porto, Portugal?

Because it was the most "exotic" destinitation from the list.
I was Excited about lerning the language.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

My scholarship was about 300E per month. It covered only the basic needs. Barely the food and the accomodation. It wasn't even close to be enough for the everyday transportation.

What is the student lifestyle like in Porto?

Partys, beach, and of course a lot of professional studies.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Porto to other students?

I would, but I would warm everyone to check if there is a teacher on the faculty who speaks proper englis. Students with Spanish/French/Italian/Romanian knowledge will find everything easy.

What is the food like?

If you like fish, and sea food it's oke. But if you would like to eat somehing more it can be difficult.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Porto?

No, not at all. I had a lot of friends there who helped me finding a place to stay.

How much does it cost to live in Porto?

it cost around 400 E per month + expence for partys.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

I can only reccomend the language course on the Faculty of languages of the POrto University. The two lady who teach portugese were really friendly and helpful during my language course. It will always remain the best language course i have ever participated.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Porto from your city?

From Budapest the easiest travel option TAP. but it was also the most expensve. I can reccomend Ryanair but the confort of these flights is not the best and there are big leak between flights heading to Portugal.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Porto?

I would reccomend the new years eve. It was definetly the best party in my life. People are on the street from the early hours and party together until the sun comes up.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Porto?

I can sugggest to try any restaurants in the Ribeira.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

The wine sellers hava nice trips with wine tasting.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Porto in the future?

Bring as much shoes as you can. The streets of portugal and the cobbled streets are killing all type of shoes. And fi you prefer beer over wine, you better bring your own;)
