Why did you choose to go to Porto, Portugal?

This is my second erasmus. In my first one i was in czech republic, so i discovered the most of the countries and cities there. I want to explore this part of Europe too.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I received the 80% of the scholarship, which is more or less 1600 €.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Porto to other students?

Porto is one of the most beautiful placies that i have ever been! And the universities here are very good.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Porto?

There are not dormitories for erasmus students. Accommodation is the most expensive part of the erasmus life here..

How much does it cost to live in Porto?

If you are planning not to travel, just enjoy the city, I think more or less 450-500€ per month is okay.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Portuguese are really difficult. In some universities here there are courses but not for free of course.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Porto from your city?

Ryanair. There is not direct flight but still you can find really cheap flight to milan, frankfurt, paris or london and then porto!

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Porto?

"More club" or "plano B", these are the best clubs for erasmus in porto. Also, if someone likes techno music, "Gare" is the best option.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Porto in the future?

Enjoy the city as much as you can, there are so many things that you can do and see here! Time is not going back.
