Porto has best universities of Portugal and they have a lot of research programs and facilities.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
Licenciatura: form 3 to 4 years, depend ont he courses.
Master integrated: 5/6 years.
You can apply for many typs of help with costs.
What is the student lifestyle like in Porto?
student lifestyle in Porto is very busy! there are allwyas many things to study and to see, there is parties everyday.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Porto to other students?
I highly recommend it.
What is the food like?
food is tipical of the north of portugal, but there are a lot of restaurante where ou can choose a healthier style or other tips of cuisine.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Porto?
a little, because there is a lot of people serching for the same thing, the earlir you start to find the better.
How much does it cost to live in Porto?
from 100-250€ for accomodation
from 20-60€ costs (water, electricity, net) when its not includded
for food, about 50€ per month more or less
transports: depends on the area you live, from 20-50€ per month
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
university has many courses available and programs to see the city. theres is allways int he begging of semester a week programmed for eramus and foreigns.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Porto from your city?
by subway or bus. the price of th ticket is the same with the same zone. you can recharg it with one trip and choose if you want tp take the bus or subway. be careful because there is always a lot of security checking the tickets.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Porto?
in downtown
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Porto?
there are a lot of good restaurante, usually the river sides are a little bit more expensive because its a very turitic zone
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
there are a lot of cultural sites to visit, like: visitporto. travel
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Porto in the future?
everybody speaks English (more or less) and when they dont try really hard to help. porto is a very friendly and positive city!
